Bad news

Apparently Clinton Portis is a no-go for Week 2 ... surprising news after he looked pretty good on 10 carries in Week 1, and he didn't even know he was downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game against Dallas. Apparently Portis and coach Joe Gibbs aren't on the same page right now (not hard to believe given Portis has like 10 personalities) ... maybe Dr. I Don't Know will throw on his wig and make a surprise cameo Sunday night, but for now, Ladell Betts, T.J. Duckett and Rock Cartwright will share the load, and none are really good options against the Cowboys. Another bummer for Portis owners, but hopefully they're just being overly cautious.

Randy Moss- Is he done for? Especially considering he plays for a team that can't get into the endzone. What do you think? What kind of trade value do you think he has? Who would be a good RB swap?

Not done, but you're right to be in panic mode. Not only did the Silver & Black look god-awful last week, but Moss is already butting heads with coach Art Shell.

Moss is still a top-10 WR when fully healthy and fully motivated, and the Raiders certainly can't be this inept every game in 2006, whether it's Aaron Brooks or someone else at QB. Granted, they're pretty darn bad, but you can still get production out of receivers on bad teams, even if it's just because they are throwing a lot coming from behind.

That being said, Moss' trade value is pretty low right now, and unless you have a diehard Raiders fan in your league you're not going to get much back for him. Ideally, Moss is worth an RB on the level of Brian Westbrook, Julius Jones, Reuben Droughns, Kevin Jones, etc. in standard-scoring leagues, so if you believe in any of those guys and can convince someone to part with them, go for it. If not, hang onto him and hope for the best. Good luck.
